This is a recreation of the Chrysobull (golden bull) of Byzantine emperor Andronikos II Palaiologos (r. 1282-1328) issued in 1301 to grant extended privileges to the Bishop of Monemvasia. This image here is a recreation of the cover of this document issued by the emperor depicting the emperor Andronikos II (left) handing over the document or Chrysobull seen on his hand to Christ (right). The face of Christ in the original manuscript is now damaged, so in recreating the face of Christ, I based it on the his image on the mosaic known as the Deesis in the Hagia Sophia of Constantinople.
This illustration was made for a video I just made on Emperor Andronikos II Palaiologos' Byzantine Empire. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4yHVSkgbvU&t=132s
